Why Learn to Play Guitar?
It enhances and stimulates your brain-power. Guitar requires a lot of memorization. You will memorize chord charts, scales, note patterns, and entire songs. This isn’t meant to sound like a lot of work, learning all of these will improve your playing and is actually surprisingly fun.

It will make you more outgoing! No matter how shy you may be, getting in front of a crowd and playing guitar will help you be a little more outgoing. There are a lot of people who play guitar or other instruments, and if you play too then that is something in common you can relate to them with and talk about.

A guitar is easy to transport. If you need to practice at someone else’s house, or you just want to take your guitar to your college dorm it’s easy to transport and doesn’t take up much room.

It’s FUN! Although it may seem like a lot of work, but practicing and learning songs is fun. Playing in a band or just playing some songs with your friends is a blast as well. It’s always cool when you start playing a song and 4 or 5 other people start singing along with your playing

A few words on: Practice
Without regular practice at home, the students will end up practicing during their lessons, rather than refining their skills and learning new skills. Practice is not about playing through their piece once or twice. It should involve stopping to work on notes or rhythms they keep missing. Practice skills are taught in the lessons, and students should utilize these skills at home. Younger students need parental help in finding time to practice and knowing how to practice. As students mature, they should be able to take on the responsibility of practicing daily and practicing correctly.
Suggested daily practice times (these times can be split into two shorter sessions each day):
7-8 years old: 15 minutes
9-11 years old: 25 minutes
12-15 years old: 35 minutes
16 and older: 45 minutes
